Karan Johar questioned Aditya Roy Kapur on Koffee With Karan season 8 over Kartik Aaryan advancing the brand with Aashiqui 3. KJo remarked, “I wanted to know how it feels when someone else moves your franchise forward.” Aditya Roy Kapur responded by saying that Kartik is the ideal star for Aashiqui 3.
Aditya replied, “There was no chance I could be in this, because in the second part, my character went for a long swim, from which he is not returning. So I feel like it’s great. I died ya. Where will I come back now? My spirit will come back. He’s hovering over Kartik Aaryan. He’s the villain.”
About the film
The announcement that Kartik Aaryan had been cast in the lead role of Aashiqui 3 came in September of 2022. Despite multiple speculations regarding the female lead’s casting in the movie, an exclusive source told Pinkvilla in September that the rumours were false. “The actress has not yet been decided upon. The source stated that after that is finished, director Anurag Basu would formally reveal the name of the person they have cast opposite Kartik Aaryan.
