Kriti Sanon: Actor Kriti Sanon looks ethereal as Sita in the two new posters of Adipurush that the makers released on Sita Navami. There are two different versions of the poster doing the rounds on social media. One of them shows a close up of Kriti Sanon while the other one is a long shot. The film will see Kriti Sanon as Sita along with Prabhas as Ram. Kriti is wearing a beige saree and a saffron dupatta covering her head. She looks ethereal as the teary-eyed Janaki in the new motion poster.
Adipurush sparks controversy
Earlier, Om Raut’s directorial Adipurush sparked controversy when a complaint was filed over a poster of Prabhas and Kirti as God Ram and Goddess Sita.
The film is one of the marquee films to hit theatres shortly.
After the poster unveiling earlier, the makers of the film decided to release new posters of Kriti Sanon on the occasion of Sita Navami.
Saif Ali Khan plays Raavan in the film. The epic film also features Sunny Singh in a pivotal role. Adipurush will hit theatres on June 16, 2023 and will release in IMAX and 3D formats.
World Premiere in New York on June 13
Meanwhile, according to media reports, before its release in India, the Adipurush team announced that the film will have its World Premiere in New York on June 13 at the Tribeca Festival, which is scheduled to take place from June 7 to 18. The Tribeca Festival, presented by OKX and founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2001, was meant to bring together artists and diverse audiences to celebrate the art of storytelling in all its forms.
The film was produced by T-Series Films and Retrophiles and was made on a budget of Rs 500 crore. Adipurush is based on the Hindu epic, Ramayan.
