Squid Game Season 2: Lee Jung Jae recently wore a new hat, deciding to make his directorial debut. The 49-year-old actor and director makes his directorial debut as a police official alongside longtime friend Jung Woo Sung. The film, which marked his directorial debut, was screened at the non-competitive Midnight Screening section of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.

‘Hunt,’ which was released in South Korea on August 10, drew a large crowd of appreciative moviegoers. To continue the promotion, the actor arrived on the JTBC Newsroom broadcasting channel. Speaking about his popular show ‘Squid Game,’ which debuted last year and saw a global surge, the actor also revealed that a season 2 is in the works.
According to Lee Jung Jae, Director Hwang Dong Hyuk is nowadays working on the script for Season 2 of ‘Squid Game.’ In more specifics, the actor revealed that the writer has recently completed the larger skeleton of the show and has designed the specifics of the main characters. In terms of the current work on the series, Lee Jung Jae is said to have discussed the episode scenarios.

Whereas, Lee Jung Jae has been nominated for the award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series’ at the ‘2022 Primetime Emmy Awards,’ which will be held on September 12. ‘Squid Game’ has received a record-breaking 14 nominations, including one for ‘Outstanding Drama Series.’
