What is shown in the ‘Main Atal Hoon’ Trailer

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, played by Pankaj Tripathi, is featured in the teaser observing a movie and informing his companion that people believe what they are presented. The next scene shows Vajpayee enduring abuse and threats while someone discusses Nathuram Godse, the man who killed Mahatma Gandhi, and how Godse had been a member of the RSS for a few days, a group that Vajpayee had also belonged to. He claims that some people label the RSS as sectarian and that there is a growing belief that a Hindu party could pose a threat to national security.

The new trailer for Main Atal Hoon then goes on to depict Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s resistance to Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi during the Emergency. There’s a brief view of the late President Abdul Kalam thanking Pankaj’s Vajpayee for the successful nuclear test at Pokhran after that.
