Jayasurya: After much controversy, Mollywood actor Jayasurya spoke for the first time about grave allegations of sexual harassment against him brought up by former actress Minu Muneer and several others. In a public statement, which he has released today, the actor expressed his deep distress with regard to these accusations: they cause immense pain to him and his family. Jayasurya, who celebrated his 46th birthday in the United States of America, has promised that when legal action is taken against the defamers, his fans and people would see him back in Kerala once he completes all work commitments.
Multiple FIRs Filed Against Jayasurya
Two separate FIRs were filed against Jayasurya following the allegations against him. A second FIR was filed on August 30 after the first one was filed by Minu Muneer. According to a report by ANI, Kerala Police have booked Jayasurya under sections 354, 354A (A1) (I), and 354D of the Indian Penal Code-IPC. The case, which was initially filed in Thiruvananthapuram, will be transferred to the Thodupuzha Police Station for further investigation.
According to a report in ANI, the Kerala Police said, “The second FIR was registered against actor Jayasurya under 354, 354A (A1) (I) and 354D IPC. The case was registered after the complainant’s statement was recorded. The FIR has been registered in Thiruvananthapuram and will be transferred to Thodupuzha Police Station.”
Jayasurya’s Emotional Response to False Allegations
Jayasurya also said in a tone tingled with sarcasm that the accused had made his birthday “painful,” which shows the toll this has taken on him. As the case progresses, everything about the reactions of the actor with regard to what happens afterward will be widely monitored by his fans and the public in general.
Jayasurya wrote, “To all of you who have wished me on my birthday today, to all of you who are extending your support and standing by me, thank you. Due to my personal commitments, my family and I have been in America for the past month and during this time, two false allegations on the grounds of sexual harassment were made against me. Quite naturally, it has shattered me, my family and everyone who has held me close.”
He added, “I have decided to move forward with this legally. My legal team will be looking after the rest of the proceedings regarding this case. False allegations are easy to make for anyone who lacks conscience. I only hope one realises that facing a false accusation of harassment is just as painful as harassment itself. A lie always travels faster than the truth, but I believe truth will prevail.”
He concluded by saying, “I will be back as soon as I finish my work here. All the legal proceedings to prove my innocence will continue. I have complete faith in our judicial system. Thank you to those who contributed to making this birthday the most painful one. Let those who have not sinned throw stones, but only at those who have sinned.”
