Asaram Bapu slaps legal notice against Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai
It only took netizens to put two and two together to find out that the film is loosely based on the life of Asaram Bapu. Meanwhile, Manoj Bajapyee plays the role of the lawyer who got the self-styled Godman behind bars.
Now, the film has found itself in a legal suit as the makers of the film and Manoj Bajpayee have received a legal notice from Asaram Bapu’s charitable trust. The lawyers have claimed that the movie tarnishes the reputation and good name of their client.
Manoj Bajpayee on legal notice
Talking about the legal notice, Manoj Bajpayee has said that the story has not been changed. “The thing is there has been a court verdict on this case. There has been a judgement and punishment which was decided by the High Court. There is nothing above the law and the court. So, once that is proved in the court of law, how can we be responsible for telling the story? We have only filmed it. We only made a film on it. There is no change from our side,” he told India Today.
