Marvel Studios’ THUNDERBOLTS: Marvel has confirmed the release of the final movie of Phase 5 of the MCU: Thunderbolts. During a presentation at the San Diego Comic Con, President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, announced that ‘Thunderbolts’ is set to release in theatres on July 26, 2024, featuring an exciting new group of heroes.
Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will begin on February 17, 2023, with Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania, and will end on July 26, 2024, with Thunderbolts.
We know that Black Widow‘s Eric Pearson is writing the script, and Jake Schreir is set to direct it.
In the comics, the Thunderbolts are an antihero team that has consisted of many different members over the years. By positioning these types of characters as the “heroes” of the film, Marvel has an opportunity to explore characters who are much more complex, both emotionally and physically, much like DC’s The Suicide Squad.
Not much is known about the movie apart from the release date. Marvel is yet to make any cast announcements for the Thunderbolts movie, and we might have to wait until the next big presentation (at D23 Expo in September) for any confirmations.
