Ramoji Rao: The founder of Ramoji Film City and a titan of the Indian media and film industries, Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, passed away early on Saturday in Hyderabad at the age of 87. He was well known for his contributions to media companies and his aptitude for entrepreneurship. Ramoji Rao was born on November 16, 1936, into a farming family in Pedaparupudi, Andhra Pradesh. He had a deep affinity to farming as a child. He continued his literary studies and went on to become a prosperous businessman and media entrepreneur.

The Padma Vibhushan awardee is known for founding the Ramoji Group, which is the owner of the renowned integrated production hub Ramoji Film City in the capital city of Telangana. They’ve moved his mortal remains to his apartment in Film City.

Ramoji Rao, the inventor of Eenadu & Ramoji Film City, is honored by TDP chairman N Chandrababu Naidu. Early this morning, Ramoji Rao passed away in Hyderabad’s Star Hospital while receiving treatment.
His other commercial endeavors included the Dolphin Group of hotels, the Kalanjali shopping mall, Priya Pickles, Mayuri Film Distributors, and the Margadarsi Chit Fund. For his services to Telugu cinema and media, Ramoji Rao has received numerous honors and awards, including the Padma Vibhushan (2016), the National Film Award for Best Telugu Feature Film for “Nuvve Kavali” (2000), four Filmfare Awards South, and five Nandi Awards.
