Manya Singh, an engineer from Telangana was named the winner of VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 on Wednesday night. Manika Shyokand of Haryana was declared VLCC Femina Miss Grand India 2020, while Manya Singh was the runner up in the competition.
Manya Singh is the daughter of a rickshaw driver from Uttar Pradesh. This win is special for them because it is achieved after many nights and many years of hard work. Manya made her point by writing a post ‘ThisIsMyStoy’ on social media about the struggles going on in the path of success. She told that she hopes to inspire others by using this platform to set her journey by Miss India.
Manya says that her parents had pledged small ornaments that were meant to pay Manya’s examination fees. Miss India said of Manya Singh in a post shared last month, “She believes that education is the strongest weapon that one can have all the time.”
In a post shared in December by Miss India’s official Instagram handle, she said, “My blood, sweat and tears have dared to pursue my dreams.”
Manya had told, ‘Many nights of my and family have gone without food and sleep. But my parents always supported me. My mother pledged my jewelry to pay my exam fees and always asked to follow the passion. Manya further said, ‘I ran away from home at the age of 14. I used to study during the day, wash dishes in the evening and work in the call center during the night. I used to walk far on foot to save the rent of rickshaw. Today I am on the stage of Femina Miss India only because of her parents and brother. These people taught me that if you believe in yourself then your dreams can be fulfilled. ‘
