Min Yoongi: Min Yoongi aka BTS member Suga has been involved in a controversy for over a week. The DUI (Driving Under the Influence) case of Suga is showing no signs of stopping but increasing rapidly. Recently, some anti-fans of the Biggest Boy Group member, Min Yoongi, sent flower wreaths in front of the HYBE building to show dissatisfaction with the conduct of the BTS member. These anti-fans claimed to be the fans of the group.
Increasing Demand for Suga’s Removal
Suga is receiving heavy backlash for his DUI case. On 13th August around 8 AM KST, it was reported that some protestors (calling themselves fans) sent flower wreaths to the HYBE Labels Building with the demand of BTS member Suga’s withdrawal from the group. Various messages were displayed on the flower wreaths including ‘Min Yoongi, Leave the team’, ‘The fans are suffering’, ‘You were the one who let go of our hand’, and many more, disrespectfully mentioning his name. An anonymous fan cited to a Korean News Outlet, ‘This is not the coordinated action by the entire fandom, as these wreaths were sent by individuals.’ ‘We held this protest because no action was taken by HYBE, BigHit Music and Suga released a false statement’ he added. They said that if BigHit Music doesn’t release a statement then the flower wreaths protest will turn into a truck protest.
Min Yoongi’s DUI Case
On the 6th of August, BTS member got involved in a drunk driving case when he was parking his electric scooter. While parking his vehicle outside his house, the ‘Life Goes On’ singer fell, it came to the notice of the nearby Police Officer who then conducted a breathalyzer test which resulted positive. After getting severe backlash from the netizens, the singer and his label came forward and apologized for his misconduct but the controversy sparked when BigHit Music claimed that Min Yoongi had just a glass of beer but his Alcohol level surpassed the maximum limit set by South Korean Government by 7 times. It was also mentioned by the Yongsan Police Station that Min Yoongi aka Suga was not driving the Electric Kickboard that he claimed but he was riding an Electric Scooter.
