Missing Pakistani girls: Police have located two missing teenage girls, aged 13 and 14, from Pakistan’s Karachi’s Korangi area. On Tuesday, police said they discovered them about 1200 kilometres from their home in Lahore. According to reports, the girls fled because they wanted to meet K-pop group BTS in South Korea.
Missing Pakistani girls found in Lahore
While searching their home as part of their investigation, police found a diary that revealed their plans to travel to South Korea to meet the supergroup BTS, said senior police superintendent Abraiz Ali Abbasi said in a video statement.
“From the diary we saw mentions of train timetables and that they had been planning to run away with another friend of theirs … who we then interviewed,” Abbasi said.
“We started tracking them aggressively and found out they were in custody of the police in the city of Lahore where they had traveled by train.”
“Interestingly, they had googled [things like] ‘what to avoid in South Korea’ and ‘what type of clothes would they need to wear’ there,” Abbasi stated.
He said that arrangements to bring the girl back to their home have been made, requesting parents to “monitor their children’s screen time” to stop from such incidence to happen in future.
