Money Heist: Korean series Money Heist: Korea Part 2 is picked from exactly part 1 ended — Desperate robbers trying to print money at the Joint Economic Area Mint and also trying to intimidate their confused hostages. The series has not changed much from the original Spanish series and hence is predictable. Though not as exciting, the show is still somewhat entertaining and has wild moments of action and fun with beautifully shot sequences.
In the second season we will see the last stages of The Professor’s plan come to fruition. When Álex Pina’s La Casa De Papel or Money Heist was released a few years ago, it became a global sensation. One of the biggest hits of the streaming platform worldwide, its Korean remake later was no surprise as South Korean shows do exceptionally well. Squid Game and All of us are Dead are some of the blockbusters.
Remake of the Spanish TV drama
The series is a remake of the Spanish TV drama and follows the storyline and characters of the original. “The Professor” (Yoo Ji-tae), a strategist criminal mastermind, plans to pull off a heist in the reunified Korean Peninsula inspired by those in Spain. The operation involves strategists and desperados with different characteristics and abilities, who have to face unusual situations. Thieves overtake the mint of a unified Korea. With hostages trapped inside, the police must stop them — as well as the shadowy mastermind behind it all.

It has multiple layers
The Money Heist Korean adaption writer, Ryu Yong-jae is a big fan of the original Spanish series. He said, “I was intrigued by the premise of the remake because not only is it about the conflict between robbers and police, but also it adds new layers such as the tension, mistrust, and harmony between North and South Korea.”
After releasing the new trailer of Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area’s second season, Netflix started streaming the series from December 9.
While the original La Casa De Papel has five seasons, the streaming platform has not yet revealed if they are going to follow the same route.
