Monica O My Darling Review: Rajkumaar Rao, Radhika Apte, Sikander Kher and Huma Qureshi starrer Monica O My Darling released in the theaters on this Friday. The makers organized a special screening for the B-Town and the film also released on Netflix. Talking about the movie, Ambition and greed are the important components of the movie as they both make one do things that will surprise and sometimes just shock you. Jayant Arkhedkar (Rajukummar Rao) is a classic man and his time changes by his luck and talent. Now, he has to manage the Unicorn Group, which is owned by his to be father-in-law. However, all of this goes wrong and he gets involved into a passionate affair which is followed by murderous plot. His life starts witnessing ups-downs and a cat and mouse chase.
What’s Interesting in the movie?
Monica O My Darling is a comedy-crime thriller and the main elements of these types of movies are twists and turns that can amaze the audience. This movie has those twists and turns to hook you up and especially in the second half. Undoubtedly, director Vasan Bala and writer Yogesh Chandrashekhar will get kudos for maintaining the common element fairly. Achint Thakkar has done really well so and his BGM gives total support to the film.
The BGM will remind you many Hollywoo detective movies and gives you a totally different vibe while watching the film. The DOP Swapnil Sonaware has done tremendous work with camera and he has taken wonderful shots. The camera shots bring the movie’s world alive with the vision and creation.
What’s not interesting?
The first half of the film is a little bit slow. In comedy-crime thriller movies, the faster the story goes the more thrills the audience experience and the movie lacks it in the starting 45 minutes. Director Vasan Bala and writer Yogesh Chandekar could have sharpened that thing in the movie.
Performances of the actors
Rajkummar Rao has given a amazing performance as Jayant Arkhedkar as he successes in beautifully showcasing the emotional graph of character. Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is also good as his fiancé and Huma Qureshi also stunned as Monica. Radhika Apte has done these types of films and she kills it as ACP Naidu.
