MTV Video Music Awards: The famous MTV Video Music Awards were back with a bang this year. This year’s award show was filled with captivating performances, stunning music and ravishing celebrity appearances. From American to K-pop, fans of all music genres have been waiting for the event for a long time. Like always American pop star Taylor Swift bagged multiple awards and broke the record of being the most-awarded singer at the VMAs. A female-dominating award show was witnessed by the fans, here are the top 2024 MTV Video Music Awards winners.
MTV Video Music Awards Taylor Swift Bags Big
MTV Video Music Awards 2024 was a show to remember. The popular singer Taylor Swift was once again the highlighting celebrity of the event. ‘Lover’ singer clinched 7 VMAs this year and became the most-awarded artist at the award show. The singer won ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop’ as well as ‘Best Editing, Best Direction, Song of the Summer, Best Collaboration, and Video of the Year’ awards all for her song Fortnight (feat. Post Malone). During her thank you speech for the ‘Video of the Year Award’, Taylor took the hearts of the fans by mentioning her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. She said, ‘My boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness, fun and magic, so I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot.’
Sabrina Carpenter Wins Song of the Year
Famous singer Sabrina Carpenter also graced the event. She won the Song of the Year for her popular summer song that has everyone grooving for over a year worldwide, Espresso. She kept her thank you speech, short, simple and humourous, she said, ‘Thank you to that me Espresso!’ Sabrina also performed at the VMAs, she grabbed the attention with her songs, ‘Please Please Please’ and ‘Espresso.’
Other Big Awards at the VMAs
Apart from Sabrina, the award show was dominated by female awardees. BLACKPINK Lisa became the only K-pop soloist to win the Best K-pop award twice. Chappell Roan won the Best New Artist Award, Eminem’s Houdini won Best Hip Hop, SZA took the award for Best R&B, and Anitta grabbed the Best Latin award for Mil Veces. The viral song Water by Tyla also bagged a VMA for Best Afrobeats. Megan Thee Stallion also won an award for BOA.
