Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant were engaged today in a ceremony at the Ambani house in Mumbai. The Ambanis, along with close friends and family, were in attendance for the event, according to a statement provided by the family. Aside from the traditions, the family members also performed a surprise dance routine, headed by Nita Ambani. The wedding followed traditional Gujarati Hindu traditions such as Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi.
Mukesh Ambani’s daughter visited Radhika’s house
The evening started with Anant’s sister Isha and other members of the Ambani family visiting Radhika’s family home to formally invite them, according to a family statement. Mantras were chanted to welcome them. The couple and their families then went to the temple to seek Lord Krishna’s blessings. The main event started with an auspicious Ganesh pooja.
Following this were ceremonies such as the Gol Dhana, a pre-wedding rite in which jaggery and coriander seeds are distributed in a symbolic gesture, and the Chunari Vidhi. The Ambani family’s dancing performance delighted the audience, who cheered them on. Following the festivities and procedures, the couple exchanged rings among the gathering’s good wishes and blessings.
Radhika wore a gorgeous gold adorned lehenga for the occasion, while Anant wore a deep blue traditional kurta. The rest of the family was also dressed in gold and blue.

The couple has been dating for several years and plans to marry in the coming months. Anant Ambani is the son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani and has worked for Reliance Industries in a variety of capacities. He attended Brown University in the United States and currently oversees RIL’s energy business. Radhika Merchant, the daughter of Shaila and Viren Merchant, attended New York University. She is on the Encore Healthcare Board of Directors.
