Nana Patekar breaks silence on not being in Welcome 3; Here’s what he said

Akshay Kumar unveiled the teaser of Welcome 3 on his birthday. The film is titled ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ and it features a huge cast of Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lara Dutta, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Johny Lever, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, Rahul Dev and singers-brothers Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh. Ever since the announcement, fans have been unhappy to know that Uday and Majnu (Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor) would not be a part of the film. Now, Nana Patekar broke his silence on the same.

Nana Patekar opens up on not being in Welcome 3

The trailer of Nana’s upcoming film ‘The Vaccine War’ was released recently and he attended the trailer launch event with the star cast. When asked about Welcome 3, Nana Patekar said, “I am not a part of it, maybe they think hum bahut puraane ho gaye hai.” He continued, pointing to director Vivek Agnihotri, who was on stage with him, “He doesn’t think I’ve gotten so old, so he cast me in his film. It’s as easy as that.”

For the uninitiated, Nana Patekar returns to the big screen with The Vaccine War, five years after Kaala. He plays Balram Bhargava, former director general of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), who played a key role in dealing with the pandemic and was a member of the country’s Covid working group in The Vaccine War.

About the film

‘The Vaccine War’ will be featuring the struggles of Indian scientists in making the covid vaccine and fans are hoping that it will also be thrilling like Kashmir Files. It is directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The lead characters of ‘The Vaccine War’ are Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pallavi Joshi. The film, produced by Pallavi Joshi and I Am Buddha, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
