National Film Awards 2023: The 69th National Film Awards, a highly anticipated event in the Indian film industry, took place on Thursday (August 24), at the National Media Center in New Delhi. Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon emerged as the winner of the evening, both getting the prestigious Best Actress Award for their outstanding performances in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’, respectively.
‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, directed by renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, not only received critical acclaim but also did wonders at the box office. The film showcased Alia Bhatt‘s exceptional acting prowess, earning her the prestigious award of the country. In response to her win, Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram account to express her gratitude towards Sanjay Leela Bhansali, penning a heartfelt note. She also extended best wishes to her fellow awardee, Kriti Sanon.

Alia Bhatt expressed her happiness of winning the National Award by posting her picture on Instagram on Thursday night. In the pictures, the actress strikes the iconic pose of Gangubai and dons a white and black outfit. She captioned, “To Sanjay Sir..To the entire crew.. To my family.. To my team & last but most definitely not the least To my audience.. This national award is yours .. because without you ALL none of this would be possible.. Seriously.”

Apart from this, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ directed by Karan Johar was also released in theaters on July 28, 2023, which was appreciated by the audience as well as the critics. Ranveer Singh was seen in the lead role alongside Alia in the film.
