Show Me The Thumka: The upcoming movie “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. The makers of the film have been facing a lot of backlash from netizens for the ‘vulgar’ choreography in the latest song “Show Me The Thumka”. The song features Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, who are seen dancing in a colorful setting, with Shraddha wearing a yellow saree and Ranbir in a blue kurta and white pyjama.
Netizens are calling it ‘tharki dance step’
The song has been criticized for its suggestive dance steps, which many netizens have compared to Bhojpuri songs. The hook step of the song, in which Shraddha Kapoor sits on Ranbir Kapoor’s thighs, has particularly drawn a lot of flak, with many calling it a ‘tharki dance step’.
One user wrote, “first we get lunges, and now some kind of weight/dumbbell training. tf is goin on in Bollywood man.” Another user wrote, “Looks like expensive Bhojpuri song.” The third user wrote, “lad atleast some people are seeing it – although it was pretty blatant. The dance steps, camera travelling over her body, costume etc. Luv Ranjan seems to have a waist fetish or thinks this sells.”
Netizens are unhappy with Pritam’s music
The controversy has been further fueled by the fact that the makers called it a wedding song and netizens are saying that these steps are too vulgar and offensive to perform in an Indian wedding. They are comparing this dance step to Bhojpuri as bhojpuri songs feature tempting and vulgar dance steps. Not only choreographers but Music director Pritam is also facing trolling as the online users are thinking that Pritam has not given a great music for the song. However, Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor’s chemistry is being loved by the viewers.
