In December 2021, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested absconding Ludhiana Court Building blast conspirator and wanted terrorist Harpreet Singh from Delhi airport soon after his arrival from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The NIA today said it had arrested the main conspirator, Harpreet Singh, alias Happy Malaysia, who was absconding and had reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head. The agency said on Friday that Pakistan-based self-styled head of the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) was one of the conspirators of the December 2021 Ludhiana Court building blast along with Harpreet Rode, an aide of Lakhbir Singh Rode. One person was killed and six were injured in the horrific bomb blast.
Harpreet Singh is a resident of Amritsar
Harpreet, a resident of Punjab’s Amritsar district, was arrested from Malaysia on Thursday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here. The case was initially registered by the Punjab Police on December 23, 2021 and the NIA re-registered it on January 1 this year. “Investigation has revealed that Lakhbir Singh Rode’s associate Harpreet Singh alias Happy Malaysia Rode was one of the conspirators in the Ludhiana Court building blast,” the NIA said in a statement.
Was also involved and wanted in many cases
The NIA said that acting on Rode’s instructions, Harpreet coordinated the delivery of custom-made improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which were sent from Pakistan to his India-based associates, which were used in the Ludhiana Court Complex blast. Harpreet was also involved and wanted in various cases including smuggling of explosives, arms and narcotics.
Earlier the NIA had declared a reward of Rs 10 lakh on Harpreet Singh against whom a non-bailable warrant was issued from the special NIA court and a look-out circular was opened.
