IMDb: Every year there are celebrities who rock the IMDb Most Popular Indian Stars list. Once again, the famous rating website released its much-awaited list for the year 2024. Surprisingly this year neither SRK nor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but a new candidate topped the table. The year 2024 has been amazing for a lot of actors and actresses. Some got their first hits and some rocked the box office. But who led the IMDb rating? Is it Samantha, Alia Bhatt or Shraddha Kapoor? Let's find out.
Triptii Dimri Outshines Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai
You must have guessed it already, Triptii Dimri has been named as the IMDb most popular Indian star of 2024. Following her appearance in Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Animal, Triptii Dimri has created her separate space in the B-town. From getting one after another brand deals to giving hit movies with Bollywood stars, Triptii Dimri outshined other actresses in terms of everything. In 2024, Triptii Dimpri delivered amazing acting performances that generated a massive fan following for her. Dimri's year started with Vicky Kaushal starring Bad Newz followed by Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and lastly Bhool Bhulaiya 3. Most of her films graced the box office with impressive numbers. She also receive positive critical reviews for her flick Laila Majnu which was re-released in 2024.
Who Else is in the Top 10?
As Triptii Dimri topped the IMDb list of Most Popular Indian Stars, there are many other celebrities who joined the Bad Newz actress. It doesn't seem so but Deepika Padukone delivered 3 massive films in 2024, Fighter, Kalki 2898 AD and Singham Again. With that she's standing tall at 2nd spot. Following her is an unexpected yet talented actor, Ishaan Khatter for his Hollywood TV series, The Perfect Couple. At number 4, Shah Rukh Khan, even without delivering any film or show, SRK is standing tall at fourth position. Sobhita Dhulipala who recently got married to Naga Chaitanya is the fifth IMDb Most Popular Indian Star of 2024. She appeared in Monkey Man & Love and Sitara.
The number six spot is taken by a very obvious actress of 2024 Sharvari. She did Munjya, Maharaj and Vedaa and showcased her meticulous acting skills. At seven, we have Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Due to various rumours revolving around her personal life, Aishwarya has been the talk of the town in 2024. Samantha is holding the 8th spot tight. With Citadel: Honey Bunny, actress Samantha gained massive popularity all over the country. Next up is Alia Bhatt, with only one film this year, Jigra star managed to join the Top 10 IMDb list. Finally, actor Prabhas is IMDb's 10th Most Popular India star of 2024. With three gigs, B&B, Kalki 2898 AD and Modern Masters: S.S Rajamouli, Prabhas is at the 10th position.
How Does IMDb Select Stars?
As mentioned in IMDb's Instagram post, they select the winners on the basis of people's visits to their page. They wrote in their post, "The IMDb Top 10 Most Popular Indian Stars of 2024 list is comprised of stars who consistently ranked the highest on the IMDb weekly rankings throughout 2024. These rankings are based on the actual page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide."
