Pandit Banaras Tiwari, the father of the well-known actor Pankaj Tripathi, has passed away at the age of 98. The ‘OMG 2‘ actor left for his hometown Belsand, Bihar with his entire family soon after hearing the sad news. Pandit Banaras Tiwari and his wife lived in Belsand and were engaged in farming. Earlier, he also served as the village’s priest.
Official statement was issued on behalf of Pankaj Tripathi and his family
After the death of Pankaj Tripathi‘s father, an official statement was issued on behalf of Pankaj Tripathi and his family which states, “It’s with a heavy heart to confirm that Pankaj Tripathi’s father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari is no more. He lived a wholesome life of 99 years. His last rites will be performed today amongst his close family. Pankaj Tripathi is currently on his way to his village in Gopalganj.”
My father wanted me to become a doctor: Pankaj Tripath
During an interview with Hindustan Times, Pankaj Tripathi shared that his father wanted him to become a doctor. The ‘Mirzapur’ actor said, “My father wanted me to become a doctor. The place where I hail from — a village in Gopalganj in North Bihar — people, only know two professions: an engineer or a doctor. I am a son of a farmer. My village is [situated so much in the] interior that there are still no well-built roads there.”
