Netflix will premiere a live-action adaptation of ‘One Piece,’ one of the most well-known manga series of all time, in 2023. The show would star Iaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, as seen in the Straw Hats’ famous posture. The live-action adaptation of One Piece is based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga. Luffy announces that the series’ Netflix adaption would premiere in 2023.
First season will follow the East Blue arc
The series’ first season will follow the East Blue arc and will begin with Luffy’s journey as a pirate. The video teaser was released by the official Twitter accounts of Netflix and the live-action. The caption read, “A new adventure awaits! ONE PIECE is scheduled to set sail in 2023.” Iaki Godoy plays Monkey D. Luffy in the Netflix series, which also stars Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
One Piece Cast
The primary character of the series is Luffy, a young man on a journey to become the pirate king and find the legendary ‘One Piece’ treasure. Previously disclosed cast members include McKinley Belcher III, Morgan Davies, Aidan Scott, Vincent Regan, Jeff Ward, Craig Fairbrass, Langley Kirkwood, Celeste Loots, Alexander Maniatis, Ilia Isorel’s Paulino, Chioma Umeala, and Steven Ward. More cast members will be disclosed in the future, according to Netflix. In addition to the manga, which debuted in 1997, Toei Animation has produced 20 seasons of the animated series, comprising over 1,000 episodes. Furthermore, 15 animated films based on “One Piece” have previously been released.
