Oscars 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to congratulate the teams of Oscar winners Naatu Naatu and The Elephant Whisperers.
In his tweet, he congratulated the Naatu Naatu composer MM Kreem and lyricist Chandrababu. He wrote, “Exceptional! The popularity of ‘Naatu Naatu’ is global. It will be a song that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to @mmkeeravaani, @boselyricist and the entire team for this prestigious honour. India is elated and proud. #Oscars.”
In another tweet, he wrote, “Congratulations to @EarthSpectrum, @guneetm and the entire team of The Elephant Whisperers for this honour. Their work wonderfully highlights the importance of sustainable development and living in harmony with nature. #Oscars” .
Defence minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated team Naatu Naatu. He tweeted, ‘Hugely popular song ‘Naatu Naatu’ winning the Oscar Awards in the ‘Best Original Song’ category is a massive moment of recognition for Indian cinema on global stage. Congratulations to composer MM Keeravani, director SS Rajamouli & the entire RRR team for this huge achievement.’
Rahul Gandhi congratulates winners
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi congratulated the entire team of The Elephant Whisperers. He wrote, “”Heartiest congratulations to @EarthSpectrum, @guneetm and the entire team of ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ for winning the Oscar. These two women have made India 🇮🇳 proud with their heart-warming showcase of the beauty and importance of wildlife conservation
He also congratulated Naatu Naatu team. “The song India 🇮🇳 danced to has truly gone global! Congratulations @mmkeeravaani, @boselyricist and the entire RRR team for winning the Best Original Song at the Oscars for #NaatuNaattu”, he wrote.
Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and president of the Congress Party Mallikarjun Kharge all congratulated the RRR team after their victory.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy tweeted “The telugu flag is flying higher! I’m filled with pride on a Telugu song, that so beautifully celebrates our folk heritage, being given its due recognition internationally today”.
Union Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia too congratulation the Indian filmmakers’ win at the Oscars.
