Pikachu to leave Pokémon after 25 years, Here’s why?

Pikachu: Pokemon is the famous cartoon in the world and it has a solid fanbase but the one character of Pokeman who has made the show even more famous is Pikachu. Now, it seems like Pikachu is about to say ‘goodbye’ to the anime show. However, Pokemon will return to the screen in 2023, but without its most famous character, Pikachu, who is retiring after 25 seasons of wild escapades. Since 1997, the Japanese anime show has followed Pikachu and his trainer, Ash Ketchum, as they compete against other Pokemon characters in a series of tournaments. However, after ultimately winning the ‘Pokemon World Coronation Series,’ the future adventures will centre on two new characters named Liko and Roy.

New characters will join Pokemon

“It will embody everything (fans) love about Pokemon animation,” the creators claimed. The characters initially emerged in a Nintendo Gameboy video game in 1996, establishing a brand that has rivalled Star Wars and Harry Potter in the hearts of youngsters all over the world.

‘Pokemon Go’ was a seminal smartphone game that employed geolocation and augmented reality to place characters in real-world settings and quickly became a cultural sensation. Since their debut in late November, the latest video games for the Nintendo Switch, ‘Scarlet’ and ‘Purple,’ have sold more than 10 million copies.
