PM Justin Trudeau and Diljit Dosanjh: Diljit Dosanjh is unstoppable. Fresh from his historic performances at Coachella and on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in the US, the singer just became the first Punjabi artist to pack a venue on his concert tour in Canada. They met a few hours before Dosanjh’s performance at the spot. Trudeau shared a photo of the two meeting and wrote, in an X post, “Stopped by the Rogers Centre to wish Diljit Dosanjh good luck before his show.”
Trudeau Celebrates Canadian Diversity at Diljit Dosanjh Concert
Trudeau added, “Canada is a great country, one where a guy from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums. Diversity isn’t just our strength. It’s a super power.” In an X post,
Diljit too said, “Diversity is Canada’s strength. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came to check out history in the making: we sold out the Rogers Centre!” The singer also posted a video of their meeting. Relations between India and Canada were badly affected after Trudeau, in September last year, claimed about the “potential” involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. New Delhi termed Trudeau’s allegations as “absurd”.
Diljit Dosanjh Sells Out Rogers Centre
India has said that continuing to be a major irritant in its ties with Canada was Ottawa’s permission to pro-Khalistan elements to operate from its territory with impunity. Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra had commented as recently as June this year that political accommodation of anti-Indian groups in Ottawa, which condone extremism and violence, was India’s chief concern with Canada.
Diljit shared some pictures from this historic concert in Canada on his Instagram Stories. There is a picture with the Diljit concert banner with “Sold out” mentioned on it. Another video showed everybody enjoying the concert in the jam-packed stadium while rolling the flashlight on their phones.
