Prince box office collection Day 7: Sivakarthikeyan’s Prince is a romantic comedy film that is based on slapstick humour. The film seems to be nearing to end its theatrical run as the film is not getting expected response from the audience and the collection have been seeing decline for the past few days. It’s the first time that a film earned less than one lakh at the box office since its release. Due to the low collection, the screen counts for Sardar, Kantara and Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 has been increased in Tamil Nadu. Prince’s screen count will also be brought down as the film is not getting a positive run at the box office.
Director KV Anudeep and Sivakarthikeyan’s Prince hit the theatres on October 21. The romantic-comedy film clashed with Karthi’s spy-thriller Sardar. The film received mixed reviews from the audience and the critics. Prince’s brand of humour stands on low level one-liners and slapstick comedy. This is a genre that may not understandable by everyone.
Hence, Prince received a lukewarm response at the box office. On the 7th day of its release, the film earned less than a lakh (nett) in India. It has been seen that the screen count for the other south movies will be increased as they are getting a smooth run.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala revealed this, he wrote “#Sardar , #PS1 and #Kantara will see a screen count increase in TN from today..”
