Prolific actor and first-time director R. Madhavan’s directorial debut film has created waves all across the world and for all the grand reasons. The movie is still in theatres in its 5th week despite being already made available on OTT. It also has become a part of a very elite list of movies to ever have been screened in the Parliament and now, ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ just broke to the top spot of IMDb’s top-rated Indian Movies with a record all-time high rating!
R Madhavan surely has a lot to celebrate for, as with the brilliant addition of ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,’ Madhavan officially hit the hattrick of having 3 of his movies featured in the top ten of Top Rated Indian Movies by IMDb. The maverick actor-director has ‘Three Idiots’ in 7th place, ‘Anbe Sivam’ in 2nd place and ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ in 1st place. This also marks the astronomical feat of being the only person to have 3 movies in the top 10 of IMDb’s list of Top Rated Indian Movies.
Meanwhile, Madhavan recently confessed he is not keen on returning as a director in the future. In a recent interview, Madhavan called himself ‘not qualified’ to be a director.
Speaking about taking on the director’s role, Madhavan told Mid-Day, “I feel I am not qualified to be a director at all. I haven’t been to any [filmmaking] school, nor have I assisted any [director]. I don’t think I will ever venture into direction again. So, I don’t care about validation [for my directorial skills] at this point. Then again, I haven’t sought validation for anything. I have been one of those vagabonds who follow their hearts.”
