Rajinikanth and Yogi Adityanath: Superstar Rajinikanth faced criticism for his act of touching the feet of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi during his visit to the BJP leader’s residence in Lucknow. Upon his return to Chennai on Monday night, the Jailer actor briefly engaged with reporters stationed outside the airport and told them about this gesture.

Rajinikanth has been making rounds on the internet because of his highly anticipated movie, ‘Jailer.’ To promote the same Rajinikanth went to Lucknow to meet Uttar Pradesh’s CM Yogi Adityanath. As the actor went to greet the CM he out of respect touched his feet. His this gesture flooded with loads of reaction from the social media users. People started trolling and spamming the star with jokes and memes.
Defending his gesture, Rajinikanth clarified that touching people’s feet out of respect is a habit deeply ingrained in him, irrespective of their age or position. He stated, “Bhale hi umar main vo mujhse chote hain par yah meri aadat hai. Mere samne jab bhi koi sanyasi ya fir yogi aate hain to mai unke pair choota hoon”
