Rajiv Kapoor dies at 58; tributes pour in

Randhir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor’s younger brother Rajiv Kapoor has died on Tuesday. Reportedly, the actor was rushed to a Inlaks General Hospital following a cardiac arrest but couldn’t survive. He was accompanied by brother Randhir Singh during his final moments.

An actor by profession, Rajiv was away from limelight for quite some time now. He was not doing well since last few months.

Confirming the sad news of brother’s passing away, Randhir Kapoor told TOI, “”I have lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but could not save him. I am at the hospital, waiting for his body.”

Neetu Kappor, Riddhima Kapoor among other family members and friends of the actor took to Instagram to pay their last respects to the lost soul.

Sharing a picture of Rajiv, Neetu Kapoor wrote, “RIP” with folded hand emojis. Riddhima also posted the same picture of her uncle as she bid adieu to him.

Sanjay Dutt tweeted: “Absolutely heartbroken to hear about the demise of Rajiv Kapoor. A soul gone too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kapoor family in this difficult time. Om ShantiFolded hands.”

Naved Jafri wrote, “He was a pure heart and a very nice human being. May his soul rest in peace, deepest condolences to the family #rajivkapoor #riprajivkapoor.”

Rajiv Kapoor was the youngest son of Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj. ‘Ek Jaan Hain Hum’,  ‘Aasmaan’,  ‘Lover Boy’ and ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili are some of his best known works.
