Raju Srivastava: Yesterday, 58-year-old comedian Raju Srivastava passed away in AIIMS, Delhi (September 21). His burial is being held today at the Nigambodh Ghat crematorium, where his mortal remains will be cremated.
After hearing the tragic news of Srivastava’s passing, his wife Shikha remarked that her husband was a fighter and expressed her hope that he would recover from his illness. I’m unable to speak at the moment. What can I say or share right now? He battled valiantly, and I sincerely hoped and prayed that he would prevail. That hasn’t happened, though. He was a true fighter, is all I can say,” she told E-Times.
Modi’s tribute to Raju:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also posted an emotional tribute on Twitter. With the caption “Raju Srivastava lightened our lives with fun, humour, and positivity,” he posted an old photo of the two of them. He leaves us too soon, but because of his prolific work over the years, he will live on in the hearts of countless people. It is unfortunate that he has died. Greetings to his loved ones and admirers. Shanti Om”.
Kapil Sharma pens a heartfelt tribute to Raju
Among those who paid tribute to the late comic were Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan, actors Ravi Kishan, Shekhar Suman, and Vicky Kaushal, as well as The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri. On Twitter, comedian Kapil Sharma also shared a flashback photo of himself and the late comic. He wrote in Hindi, approximately translating to, “Today, for the first time you have made me cry Raju Bhai,” and underlined how much Srivastava would be missed. I wished there had been a second meeting. God, may you be laid at his feet. We will miss you a lot. Goodbye Om Shanti”
The funeral for Srivastava will take place in Delhi on September 22nd. Raju’s funeral will be tomorrow at 9:30 am at Delhi’s Nigam Bodh ghat, instead of the comedian’s family’s initial plan to transport Raju’s body to Mumbai.
For those who are unaware, Raju Srivastava had a heart attack on August 9 and was taken right away to the Delhi hospital All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). His heart attack occurred while he was exercising, according to Srivastav’s staff.

Around 11 or 11:30 he was exercising on the treadmill when he suffered a stroke. He is now steady. Right now, there is nothing to be concerned about. Doctors are performing testing; we’ll have more details soon, according to his staff. Later reports claimed that the comedian’s cardiac arrest also caused severe brain damage.
The name Raju Srivastava was well-known. After appearing in a few movies in the 1990s and 2000s, he rose to fame after taking part in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. He later appeared as the lead in a number of other comedic programmes, such as Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala, Comedy Circus, and Comedy Nights with Kapil. Numerous celebrities and political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed their admiration for the comedian.
