Rakhi Sawant mom funeral: Rakhi Sawant’s mother, Jaya Sawant, died on Saturday after a long fight with cancer. Rakhi and her husband Adil Khan Durrani were seen entering the Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday to finalise her arrangements. Rakhi announced on Instagram that her mother will be buried on Sunday at the Oshiwara Christian Graveyard in Mumbai.
Rakhi and Adil were seen walking hand in hand as they arrived at Cooper Hospital before her mother’s final journey to the cemetery. Rakhi, dressed in a white salwar suit, was also spotted directing the van transporting her mother’s casket to the cemetery. A few close friends and family members were also seen with them.
Rashami Desai and Farah Khan stand by her side
Rashami Desai is seen tightly clutching Rakhi Sawant, who is in tears. Rakhi, too, sobs as her mother’s body is carried to the ambulance. Farah Khan is also seen sitting on the floor by Rakhi’s side for a prayer session. Rakhi’s mother’s friends and family are also seen sobbing upon her passing.
According to Deepak Namjoshi, pulmonologist and head of CritiCare Asia Multispecialty Hospital and Research Center in Juhu, Jaya died at 9 p.m. on Saturday. She was 73 years old. Jaya had stage four endometrial cancer that had spread to her brain, lungs, and liver, according to Deepak. “She was admitted about a month ago. She was previously treated at another hospital before being referred here.” On Saturday night, he informed PTI.
On Sunday, Rakhi posted a message on her Instagram Stories with the following message: “With deep sadness, I, Rakhi Sawant, must notify you of the untimely passing of my dear mother. Many of you are aware that she had certain medical issues… I’m sorry to inform you that Mom has passed away… Please join us at 12 noon for my mother’s funeral service.”
