Ram Setu Box office: On its second day of release, the box office for Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu, starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushratt Bharuccha, decreased. According to Box Office India, the action-adventure movie, which benefited from the Diwali celebrations, had a 25% decline on its second day and made about Rs 11 crore, bringing its total earnings to about Rs 26 crore.
Despite movie theatres functioning at full capacity for the first time in nearly three years during the holidays, industry insiders had earlier warned that Hindi films would have subdued reaction during the Diwali week. The two Bollywood films that were launched on Tuesday—Ram Setu, starring Akshay Kumar, and Thank God, starring Sidharth Malhotra—were not advertised as family films that might bring large audiences from all demographics.
However, Ram Setu’s opening weekend is essential, and it remains to be seen if the movie takes off and experiences stronger trends. Even though Akshay Kumar has had a bad year overall, the box office results for three of his movies, Bachchhan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and Raksha Bandhan, were not particularly impressive. Ram Setu’s opening day was his best of the year by that metric. Before it crashed, Bachchhan Paandey made almost Rs 13 crore on its first day of release. Samrat Prithviraj, a historical drama, made roughly Rs 10.60 crore, and Raksha Bandhan barely made Rs 8.20 crore.

If Ram Setu keeps doing well, it would give Bollywood hope overall. The film business as a whole has experienced a series of high-budget disappointments, including Laal Singh Chaddha starring Aamir Khan, among others. The Kashmir Files by Vivek Agnihotri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 by Kartik Aaryan, Gangubai Kathiawadi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Brahmastra by Ayan Mukerji are the only notable successes of the year. Meanwhile, films like RRR, Kantara, and KGF Chapter 2 have achieved phenomenal success in the South Indian film industries.
