After 18 years of playing host and mentor on Roadies, Rannvijay Singha is bidding adieu to the adventure show. The development has been confirmed by Singha himself. However, he has clarified that his exit coms after creative differences and not due to rift, as suggested by rumours. Expressing gratitude towards MTV and Roadies, he said that the channel has been a ‘key pillar’ of his journey.
Clarifying that there were no issues with the production house, Singha added, that he has been working with the channel for 18 years and that he has done different shows with the network. “
Rannvijay told Hindustan Times, “The channel has been a key pillar of my journey and I’ll be doing interesting work with them. On this edition of Roadies, things didn’t work out from both sides. Our dates were not matching and it is disheartening. I’ve been working with the channel for 18 years. I’ve done different shows with the network. Production house aur mera koi taal mel hai nahi.”
According to HT, Sonu Sood will be stepping into Rannvijay Singha’s shows, and there will also be a subsequent change in the show’s format. Sood will be the only mentor-host this year and the face of the edition since the concept of gang leaders has been dropped by the makers; it also means that Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula, and Varun Sood among others who have played gang leaders over the previous seasons may not appear on the show.
Rannvijay Singha, an ex-Roadies winner, has hosted or appeared in all seasons of the show from Roadies 2.0 to Roadies Revolution.
