Rannvijay Singha, the actor-host who received attention for presenting the first season of one of the most anticipated shows last year, Shark Tank India, has stood down as the host in season 2, which recently aired. The 39-year-old says that while he had a great time on the show, there was only so much he could do, so he chose to leave.
He continues, “I loved the idea of the show where young businesspeople talked just about business and the psychology behind the sharks and why someone would invest in them. However, as a host, I finally found myself with little to do. We all realised at the end of the cuts that there was no way to get more Rannvijay on the show.”
It was mutual decision says Rannvijay Singha
As a result, the decision to step down as the show’s host came after Singha and the producers reached an agreement. “Even during the editing of the first season, they were like there is no place [to include your segments]. It was more of a mutual choice. “The production now does more than one show,” he explains.

Rahul Dua replaced him in the second season
Singha reveals that the makers’ initial intention for the first season of the show was largely to relay the stories of the individuals. “So, I as a host, basically had to support these emerging entrepreneurs in articulating their stories, but the connection was so fluid inside that a lot of stories and who these people are, simply poured out on its own. The sharks were quite good at communicating,” Singha recalls, who has been replaced for season 2 by comic Rahul Dua.
