Ranveer Singh: Actor Ranveer Singh is one of the most sought after Bollywood names in the film industry. He is easily any director’s first choice as actor. And now he is all set to work with India’s most celebrated director S Shankar. Earlier the duo had come together for Hindi remake of Shankar’s 2005 hit Anniyan. However, the project did not materialise. But that did not deter the two and they now they have decided to collaborate for a trilogy based on the Tamil epic novel Velpari. The films will be released pan India in multiple languages for maximum reach.

Three-part film
The film, India’s biggest ever, will be made in three parts and is expected to involve a huge budget. Shooting is expected to begin in 2023.
Ranveer Singh was last seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar which failed to make an impact on the box office. And now the star is in talks with Shankar for his big screen adaptation of the Tamil novel Velpari.
“Shankar wants to make the biggest pan-Indian film by bringing one of the biggest superstars of our generation, superstar Ranveer Singh, to helm this ambitious project – a grand cinematic adaptation of the iconic Tamil epic Velpari. The novel has everything to offer – from a larger-than-life hero to incredible life lessons, to a heart-touching love story and magnificent visual-effect sequences whose scale will set the next benchmark of action spectacles in India,” said a media report.

Busy director
Shankar works predominantly in Tamil cinema. He is one of the most prolific and highest paid film directors in India. His films typically deal with the contemporary social issues, vigilante themes and the usage of state of the art technology and VFX.
Shankar is currently working on Indian 2, a sequel to Indian, with Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal. He has also worked with Ram Charan and Kiara Advani for RC 15. With this film he made his debut in Telugu.
