Months after being constant center of media’s focus, Rhea Chakraborty has filed a complaint against media persons gathering inside her residential building. As per a Mumbai Police official’s statement, Rhea has asked the police to convey the media not to obstruct her way and work as per the constitutional rights.
Rhea, who was interviewed by a number of media channels in the past week, earlier sought protection for herself and her family. She had taken to Instagram to share a video where her father was being mobbed by the press gathered outside her complex.
“This is inside my building compound , The man in this video is my father Indrajit Chakraborty (retd. army officer). We have been trying to get out of our house to cooperate with ED , CBI and various investigation authorities to cooperate . There is a threat to my life and my family’s life . We have informed the local police station and even gone there , no help provided . We have informed the investigation authorities to help us get to them , no help arrived . How is this family going to live ? We are only asking for assistance , to cooperate with the various agencies that have asked us . I request @mumbaipolice to please provide protection so that we can cooperate with these investigation agencies . #safetyformyfamily. In covid times , these basic law and order restrictions need to be provided . Thankyou,” she had written while sharing the video.
In another video, she showed her building security guard, describing how he was attacked by the media. “Ram is my buildings watchman for the last 10 years , He is hurt , he was hit by #media. Media people have entered my building compound and hurt the security guards and my father . Is this not a crime ? Who is responsible for this ? Is there any law at all ? Are we barbarians? #justiceforram. Will the concerned authorities kindly take notice , there are children and elders living in this building too . Or is this the system we live in?” she had captioned her post. The video isn’t available on her profile now. Rhea had asked the Mumbai Police for protection of her and her family.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Rhea was questioned by the CBI for the fourth consecutive day in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput who was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14. The prima facie of the case was assumed to be death by suicide, but tables turned after Sushant’s father filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and her family for the abetment of suicide and money laundering.
The CBI is currently questioning all the people related to the deceased actor. According to media reports, the CBI has also sent a summon to Sushant’s sister Meetu who had visited him the week he died.
