Actor Ram Charan, accompanied by his wife Upasana Konidela, graced the Oscars red carpet and shared his thoughts on how his baby has brought them luck. Ram attended the event to represent the RRR team, and the film’s song Naatu Naatu won Best Original Song at the Oscars, making history as the first-ever Indian song to win in the category.
Ram Charan gives credit to his unborn baby
On the red carpet, Upasana was asked about her experience being there with Ram, and she expressed her nerves and excitement, stating that she was there to support Ram and be a part of the RRR family. Ram quickly intervened, sharing that his wife is six months pregnant and said, “The baby is bringing us so much luck. From the Globes to standing with you guys here.”
Ram was dressed in an all-black ensemble, while Upasana looked stunning in a cream designer sari. As part of the Oscars ceremony, Naatu Naatu was performed live, and the performance received a standing ovation. Deepika Padukone introduced the performance, and the audience cheered every time she mentioned Naatu Naatu.
RRR is based on the lives of two heroes
Over the past few months, Naatu Naatu has become a global phenomenon, with audiences in the west dancing in the aisles and cheering during its recent screenings. Released on last March, RRR is a fictional story set in the pre-independent era of the 1920s and is based on the lives of two real-life heroes and revolutionaries.
