In December 2023, the much-anticipated collaboration between Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel finally hit the big screens with Hombale Films’ production, “Salaar.” The film achieved a phenomenal success, raking in approximately Rs 617 crore at the global box office. The story concluded with a cliffhanger, hinting at an intense showdown between Prabhas and Prithviraj in the sequel. Ever since its release, fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on “Salaar 2.”
Filming Commences in August 2024
Initially, there were plans to start shooting the sequel in June 2024, but according to Pinkvilla the schedule is revised. According to sources close to Pinkvilla, “Salaar 2” will now go on floors on August 10, starting with a 15-day schedule at Ramoji Film City. The delay was due to monsoon rains and scheduling conflicts. During the production of the first part, Prashanth Neel had already filmed around 20% of the sequel with Prabhas and Prithviraj. The shoot will resume on a set already constructed at Ramoji Film City.
An Eight-Month Filming Schedule
Hombale Films aims to complete filming over an eight-month period, with plans to release the sequel by the end of 2025. Prashanth Neel has committed to two major projects for 2024 and 2025: “Salaar 2” and another film titled “Dragon” with NTR Jr. The director has coordinated with both producers to ensure the filming schedules are met smoothly.
High Expectations for Salaar 2
Regarding the follow-up, Prabhas, Prithviraj, Neel, and Hombale Films are very confident. Deeper drama and political intrigue that will heighten the narrative are promised to be revealed in the plot. The story was supposedly developed during the pandemic, and it’s now time to realise this idea with grandeur and bravery. Prabhas and Prithviraj will both be starring in compelling narratives with new dynamics, as fans can anticipate.
Prabhas’ Upcoming Projects
