Satish Kaushik: Veteran actor and director Satish Kaushik’e demise on March 9 came as a shock to everyone. The senior actor suffered a heart attack while he was travelling in a car in Delhi. He was rushed to hospital but could not be revived.
Kaushik was cremated later in the evening in Mumbai. Many celebrities turned up at the funeral to pay their last respects to the actor.
Meanwhile, Satish Kaushik’s daughter Vanshika Kaushik took to Instagram and shared a heartbreaking picture with her father that showed them in happier times.
Vanshika shares throwback picture
Vanshika Kaushik took to her Instagram handle to share an adorable throwback picture with her father Satish Kaushik. In the photo, Vanshika is hugging her father as the duo smile for the camera. Vanshika dropped a heart emoji as her caption.
Fans were heartbroken and they sent their condolences to Vanshika. One fan wrote, “Your father will always be a part of you, and he will always be watching over you. He will always be with you in your heart and memories dear. Lots of love and hugs to you.” Another wrote, “Stay strong and take care of ur mom.”

Remembering Satish Kaushik
Kaushik’s last post on his official Twitter account was a series of pictures from the annual Holi celebrations organised by noted lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar on March 7 in Mumbai.
“Colourful Happy Fun #Holi party at Janki Kutir Juhu by @Javedakhtarjadu @babaazmi @AzmiShabana @tanviazmi.. met the newly wed beautiful couple @alifazal9 @RichaChadha .. wishing Happy Holi to everyone #friendship #festival #Holi2023 #colors,” he wrote.
Satish Kaushik was known for his comic timing in his films. His most popular films as a filmmaker are Salman Khan starrer “Tere Naam” and “Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai”, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tusshar Kapoor. He acted in theatres before finding his break in Bollywood.
Some of his iconic roles in films were Calendar in the 1987 superhero film, Mr India, Pappu Pager in Deewana Mastana (1997), and as Chanu Ahmed in the British film Brick Lane (2007), directed by Sarah Gavron.
Kaushik also won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural.
Satish Kaushik’s final rites took place in Mumbai on Thursday evening. Bollywood celebrities including Arjun Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan, Anu Mallik, Alka Yagnik, Sanjay Kapoor and others attended his funeral.
