Shaakuntalam trailer: Pain stricken Samantha looks mesmerising, Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha makes on-screen debut

Shaakuntalam trailer: Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer Shaakuntalam trailer was dropped on Monday, and it has surprising addition — Allu Arha. Breathtaking visuals and an epic love story, Shaakuntalam has blockbuster written all over it. The film was expected to release in theatres last year, but was postponed to revisit creative aspects. The film will now release in 3D on February 17.

Shaakuntalam trailer looks promising

The trailer of Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s upcoming film Shaakuntalam was unveiled on Monday. The movie, helmed and written by Gunasekhar, has been presented by Dil Raju and bankrolled by Neelima Guna. The trailer of the film succinctly represents the agony of the leading character Shakuntala who was forgotten by her husband — King Dushyant — after Durvasa Rishi’s curse.

In a surprising event, we also see a glimpse of her son Bharat which has been played by Allu Arha, the darling daughter of Allu Arjun. Check out the trailer below:

The video was released with a description that read, “The massively mounted film Shaakuntalam based on internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play ‘Abhijnana Shakuntalam’ is all set to release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam & Kannada. The story of Shaakuntalam revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata, portrayed by Samantha and Dev Mohan. The film is helmed by supremely proficient, Director Gunasekhar and marks a whimsical tale of love set in the Kashyapa Kanumalu (Kashmir), the grandeur and splendour of Dushyant’s Puru Dynasty making the film extremely exceptional.”

Shaakuntalam also stars Dev Mohan, Allu Arha, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr.M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta, and others besides Samantha.
