Shagufta Ali, a well-known television and film actress, recently spoke up about facing financial difficulties and battling illness. She also mentioned how tough it is for her to manage her own medical expenditures and those of her mother owing to a lack of income.
Soon after the news broke, Ashoke Pandit, head of the Indian Film & Television Director’s Association (IFTDA), stated that filmmaker Rohit Shetty had come to her assistance and donated a ‘substantial amount.’
Pandit told Pinkvilla.com, “When I found out about Shagufta Ali’s financial troubles, I reached out to her to know how we can help her. After understanding her plight, I spoke to Rohit Shetty who immediately agreed to help Shagufta ji. He has donated a generous amount, and we are really thankful to him for that. I am reaching out to more people from the industry, and I have got a good response so far.”
Later on, Shagufta received financial aid of ₹5 lakh from actor Madhuri Dixit on behalf of the team of the reality show Dance Deewane 3. Shagufta visited the set of the show and also spoke about her journey over the last 36 years.
On Instagram, Colors TV shared a new promo of the upcoming episode where a teary-eyed Shagufta Ali spoke about her struggles in the last few years.
Madhuri Dixit, one of the judges of the show, walked up to her and consoled her. “You had written that you don’t even have anything to sell right now. On behalf of the Dance Deewane team, we would like to do something for you. From them, I would like to give you a cheque of ₹5 lakh”, Madhuri said.
