Shark Tank India 2: returned with its second installment when its episode 1 premiered on January 2. The show is hosted by comedian Rahul Dua and has six judges, better known as sharks – Anupam Mittal Founder-CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group; Aman Gupta, Co-Founder-CMO of boAt; Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder-CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics; Peyush Bansal, Founder-CEO of Lenskart.com and Amit Jain, Co-Founder-CEO of CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com.

Shark Tank India when first aired created quite a buzz among the audience and became the hot topic for discussion for the viewers. Based on an American business reality show, Shark Tank it invites aspiring entrepreneurs from India as participants. They pitch their business models to a panel of investors or judges and persuade them to invest money in their idea.
Season 2 was awaited eagerly by the viewers and when it aired on January 2, they were quite excited. The first episode did not disappoint them as it was filled with lots of fun, laughter and entertainment and it was a delight to watch all the sharks on TV after such a long time. It appears the upcoming episodes promise a lot of drama in store for the viewers
Women entrepreneurs find sponsors
As the episode started, sharks Vineeta Singh and Namita Thapar go to see the previous year’s pitchers, women entrepreneurs involved in the business of pickle. They gave them a cheque of Rs 85 lakh.
The premiere episode had only 5 sharks to judge the contestants – Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Anupam Mittal, Peeyush Banssal and Namita Thapar. They all shared a great bond and it was quite evident by seeing their fun banter in the episode.
Rahul Dua replaces Ranvijay Singh
Through out the episode, host and comedian Rahul Dua indulged in fun banter with the contestants. Rohas has replaced last year’s host Ranvijay Singha.
The episode saw contestants pitching for their products like Darjeeling tea and makeup brand. Vineeta was heard saying ‘I am the gunda of this industry.’
For the unversed, Vineeta is the head of SUGAR cosmetics which is currently one of the largest cosmetics brand in the country.
Lockdown was tough
Entrepreneurs also explained how they survived during the lockdown. They even had to sell products at Re 1 rupee. Host Rahul had everyone in splits with his one liners. When a contestant said, ‘I was unable to talk because the makeup artists applied so much lip balm on my lips,’ Rahul replied ‘You should have applied your own brand’s lip balm.’
The second season of Shark Tank India is being aired on Sony Television channel from Monday to Friday at 9 PM.
