Shark Tank India Season 2: ‘You are worth it,’ Namita Thapar battles it out with other sharks to strike a solo deal with women entrepreneurs

Shark Tank India Season 2: Punita Mittal and Mahak Maheshwari came to present their company SoulUp, which world’s first peer to peer network to share personal challenges, fears with same type of people. They asked for 50 lakhs in the exchange of 3% equity in the company. They impressed the sharks with their pitch and Anupam Mittal shared while praising them that he felt connected to the product because he has suffered mental disease.

Shark Tank India Season 2: All sharks gave them different offers

Namita Thapar said that she has also suffered mental health issues and she is an advocate of support groups and counselors. Pitchers shared that they started the company initially and they are not making revenue now. Vineeta Singh and Anupam Mittal gave them an offer of 50 lakhs for 20% equity. Namita matched their offer and gave one more offer of 25 lakhs for 10% equity & 25 lakhs debt without interest. Amit Jain and Aman Gupta gave them combined offer of 50 lakhs for 15% equity. Namita Thapar and Vineeta Singh & Anupam Mittal matched their offer. Pitchers countered the offers and said “we know that we are early stage but we want 50 lakhs for 5% equity.”

Namita Thapar gets the deal

Namita Thapar gave them offer of 50 lakhs for 10% equity and Amit Jain gave the same offer for 9% equity. Anupam Mittal and Vineeta Singh matched Namita’s offer. Namita said, “mujhe ye cause se judna hai aur mujhe ye deal karna hai…50 lakhs for 5%.” Pitchers accepted the deal and Anupam Mittal said, “humara kaam hogaya.” Namita said, “I’am so happy and I have no regrets. You are worth it.”
