Siddhant Suryavanshi: Untimely death of television actor Siddhant Suryavanshi at a gym on Friday has shaken his friends and fans alike. He reportedly collapsed while he was working out at his gym. Siddhant’s death sent shockwaves in the entertainment world. His is the latest death in a series of similar cases in the industry.
All those who died in similar manner were in their 40s and were doing quite well in career. The list includes South cinema star Puneeth Rajkumar, television actors Sidharth Shukla, Brahm Swaroop Mishra, Dipesh Bhan and Salman Khan’s body double Sagar Pandey. Veteran comedian Raju Srivastava, 58, suffered a heart attack during a workout and passed away after being on ventilator for over a month.
Physically fit
Siddhant was physically very fit and his friends found it hard to believe that he was no more. A gym employees said that Siddhant arrived at the gym in the afternoon and complained of headache. His trainer advised him not to exercise. Siddhant was sitting on the bench when suddenly he fell on the ground and passed out. He was rushed to the hospital but could not survive.
Exercise vital
While many see a pattern of people collapsing and dying while exercising in the gym, experts say that this does not mean that you stop exercising. Exercise is vital for health but if done in abundance, it will only harm and not benefit.

Dr Udgeeth Dhir, director and head, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS), Fortis Memorial Research Institute says, “The burden of too much exercise can lead to a heart attack, sudden cardiac death, or a decline in heart function.”
Don’t overdo
He cautions against overdoing intense exercises without supervision of a trainer.
One should also be aware of their medical conditions before undertaking intense exercise.

According to a study, blood samples of marathon runners show heart damage biomarkers after a running event. Though they recover after some time but if the heart is under stress, the temporary damage can turn serious. And if one already has some heart ailment, exercise can become fatal.
Experts also say that some people do extra weight training for a muscular body. This can also damage the heart. Doctors advise to set a target for weight training and gradually work towards the goal.
