Siddharth Anand: This is the third time director Siddharth Anand is collaborating with Hrithik Roshan for Fighter. Before this, he directed the actor in Bang Bang and War and both films were fairly successful. In War Hrithik played a secret agent while he is a fighter in the new project.
In a recent interview with India Today, Siddharth opened up about the film and said that Hrithik’s characters in War and Fighter do have a certain common streak but he made sure that they stand apart.
Fighter, that also stars Deepika Padukone, is touted as the first-ever aerial action movie to be made in the Indian film industry. The film went to floors last year.
‘Hrithik is a chameleon’
Siddharth said, “It’s my third film with him and each of my characters has been really different. Rajveer (Bang Bang) and Kabir are two different people and their personalities are completely opposite. And Patty, the character that he is playing in Fighter, he’s made it his own. And he’s like a chameleon. He just adapts and becomes that character for that one year. He brings a certain genuineness to it that can last throughout a franchise. So it’s not just made up for that moment, he becomes that person.”
Fighter is different from War
The director added, “So Patty is something we have really worked hard on to make sure it is different from Kabir and Rajveer. It’s really exciting to see him transform like that. He puts in a lot of effort. And it’s a dream for a director to have an actor who just submits himself to that film for so long. He’s a joy to work with.”
The movie is being shot extensively across the country. Asked if was planning a sequel to War, he said he had no script right now but things will be announced soon.
