Singing sensation Tina Turner passed away following prolonged illness; Beyonce, Mick Jagger pays tribute

American singing icon Tina Turner passed away on Wednesday (May 24) at the age of 83. Tina was at her Switzerland residence where she breathed her last. Her publicist released a statement saying, “Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n’Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.”

Tina Turner was one of the successful pop singers of the 1960s. The singing sensation made a name for herself by showcasing her skills alongside her husband Ike Turner. Tina Turner earned a huge fan following with her amazingly high-spirited performance. Among her many songs, ‘Proud Mary’, ‘The Best’, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ and ‘Private Dancer’ achieved immense success.

Anna Mae Bullock was born on November 26, 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee, later known as Tina Turner. She has sold over 180 million albums and won 12 Grammy Awards. For a long time, Tina was going through various health problems. Tina was diagnosed with intestinal cancer in 2016 and underwent a kidney transplant in 2017.

Beyonce, Mick Jagger pays tribute to Tina Turner

Many celebrities paid tribute to the iconic singer. Beyonce said “she was the epitome of passion and power.” While Mick Jagger called her an amazing friend and extremely talented performer.
