Cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.4 crores were stolen from actor Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s Delhi residence in February, the police said in a press release today.
The robbery took place on February 11 and the complaint was lodged before the police on February 23, nearly two weeks after the incident, the statement said. A complaint has been filed by the in-laws of actor Sonam Kapoor.
A case under Indian Penal Code Section 381 (theft by servant of property in possession of master) has been registered.
According to reports, cash and jewellery amounting to Rs 1.41 crore were stolen. Due to being a high-profile case, it was kept under wraps.
Reports suggest that the police are now questioning the house staff as part of their investigation. Delhi Police is reportedly interrogating 25 employees, 9 caretakers, drivers, gardeners, and other workers. Not only the Delhi Police but also the Forensic Lab officials are collecting evidence from the crime scene, which is Sonam and Anand’s Delhi home.
Recently, Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law Harish Ahuja has duped Rs 27 crore in which 10 people were arrested.
Sonam Kapoor is enjoying the best phase of her life, pregnancy. Sonam and Anand are expecting their first baby and are currently in Mumbai at Anil Kapoor’s residence.
