South Korean children’s song Baby Shark Dance becomes the most-watched YouTube video

The wildly popular South Korean children’s song “Baby Shark Dance” has set a new record. The music video of the song has become the most watched video with more than 7 billion views on YouTube, a record which was previously held by Louis Fonsi’s song “Despacito”. As of now, Baby Shark Dance has 7,049, 395, 509 views on YouTube.

Baby Shark Dance has been created by a South Korean Children’s educational company and was released by their official YouTube channel, ‘Pinkfong! Kids’ Songs & Stories’ on YouTube in June, 2016.

Even as the video was released in 2016, Baby Shark Dance came into light in 2019 when it charted at the 32nd spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2019. The groove-worthy lyrics and music of the song made it a perfect suit for many TikTok challengers with people using its tune as their background score.

The video, which clocks in at two minutes and 16 seconds, features two children repetitively singing “doo doo doo doo doo doo” lyrics while they call out “baby shark,” “mommy shark,” “daddy shark,” “grandma shark,” and “grandpa shark.”
