Stree 2 Leads the Box Office on Day 1, Leaving Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa in the Dust

Stree 2 vs Khel Khel Mein vs Vedaa Box Office Collection

Stree 2 vs Khel Khel Mein vs Vedaa Box Office Collection: This Independence Day, three huge Bollywood films starring some of the biggest actors in the business came to the big screen, setting up a high-stakes showdown. At the box office on Thursday, John Abraham’s action-packed Vedaa, Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer Khel Khel Mein, and Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 faced off against each other. Now that the first day’s box office figures have been released, it’s time to find out which movie won.

Stree 2 Dominates with Impressive Earnings

Sacnilk claims that Stree 2 got off to a great start thanks to preview performances on Independence Day eve. With a strong ₹46 crore on Thursday, the horror-comedy has now made over ₹54 crore in total revenue. The story from Stree 2 (2018) is carried on by Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.

Khel Khel Mein Struggles to Find its Footing

On the other hand, Khel Khel Mein, starring Akshay Kumar, had trouble getting viewers. The comedy-drama only made ₹5 crore on its opening day, despite having a star-studded ensemble that included Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. Reviews for the movie, which is Akshay’s long-awaited comeback to humour, were mixed.

Vedaa Surprises with a Solid Start

With ₹6.52 crore on Day 1, John Abraham’s Vedaa proved to be an unexpected success at the box office. Despite fierce competition, the action movie—which also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Abhishek Banerjee, and Sharvari Wagh—managed to surpass Khel Khel Mein. Vedaa, which is directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by ZEE Studios, is John Abraham and the director’s second joint venture following their fruitful work in Batla House (2019).

The Verdict

As the first day of the Independence Day box office battle concludes, Stree 2 has emerged as the clear winner, setting the pace for what could be a successful run. Vedaa has also shown promise, while Khel Khel Mein will need to rely on word of mouth and weekend crowds to improve its performance. With all three films offering something different, the competition remains fierce, but Stree 2 is currently leading the charge.
