Sukoon: Sanjay Leela Bhansali is foraying into the music world. The filmmaker announced a new album titled Sukoon will be released on December 7 across all streaming platforms, Bhansali Productions confirmed.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who earlier this year helmed the Alia Bhatt-starring movie Gangubai Kathiawadi, switched from director to composer on his film ventures with Guzaarish. He also composed all six songs of the film, including groove-worthy track Dholida. The film has received critical as well as commercial acclaim, becoming one of the first Hindi films to cross Rs 100 crore mark post pandemic. While fan await his next film, the filmmaker has announced an original, non-film music.
Sanjay said in a statement, “Two years in the making amidst the difficult times of covid, I found peace, quiet, and love while creating “SUKOON”. I hope you find the same while listening.”

The nine diverse songs on the new album, which is titled “Peace,” were performed by singers like as Rashid Khan, Shreya Ghoshal, Armaan Malik, Papon, Pratibha Baghel, Shail Hada, and Madhubanti Bagchi. Numerous musical instruments, such as the tablas, flute, guitars, sarangi, sitars, and harmonium, have been blended by Sanjay into the soundtrack.
Vikram Mehra, managing director of music label Saregama India, said of the upcoming album, “If perfection had a face, then it must be Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and once again it’s evident through his labour of love ‘SUKOON’, a collection of 9 pieces of art in collaboration with the best of the singers from the industry.”

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his highly successful films including Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Black, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, and Padmaavat. His last project was Gangubai Kathiawadi. Up next, Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be seen making his digit debut with web-show Heeramandi.
